Zoya Monica & Jamberry Shield

My good friend, Bonnie, had a Jamberry party online a few weeks ago.  I decided to check it out since I love nail art, and why not give it a shot.  Since I can't wear crazy polish to work, but can usually get away with an accent nail, only using two per manicure makes it easier to swallow the cost of Jamberry shields. Application instructions were easy to follow.  Of course I couldn't leave them as is, so I added a few little rhinestones to give it a little extra pop followed by a clear top coat.  The purple color in the pattern seemed to match up pretty well with Zoya Monica.  Monica is a super smooth purple creme, opaque in just two coats.

So far so good with the Jamberry nail shields, but we'll see how long they last on me.  I am pretty rough on my nails so wish me luck!

Zoya Neve

Zoya Neve is from the Fall 2013 Cashmere and Satins collection.  In only 2 coats, there is a deep metallic blue with a slight tinge of purple.  Can you see the flecks of red and blue!  The application was very smooth, and no visible brush marks were apparent.  This is two coats of Neve, topped with a single coat of Zoya Armor.

Zoya Marina

Zoya Marina was part of the 2011 Fall Smoke and Mirrors collection. For me, it was the perfect icy blue and grey frost.   Seems to be an appropriate color for today, given that it is snowing outside and this tone fits right in.  Application was easy, just watch out for the brush strokes!  This is 2 coats of Zoya Marina, followed by a single coat of nubar Diamont.

Zoya Lael

A few people have asked me to continue with the swatching, so the next few are ones that I have saved up.  This is Zoya Lael, a deep plum cream that is so easy to wear.  Application was a complete breeze, and was opaque is 2 coats.  This is 2 coats of Zoya Lael, follow by a topcoat of nubar Diamont.

Zoya Fei Fei

Part of the Fall 2012 collection, Zoya Fei Fei is a spectacular color.  It is hard to describe this color, but I will try!  Fei Fei is a steel blue foil with a slight violet twist.  Complimenting the base color are flecks of gold, blue, and pink sparkles.  For being as packed with foil, it really has a smooth finish.  This is two coats of Zoya Fei Fei followed by a single coat of nubar Diamont.

Zoya Hope & Zoya Electra

Zoya Hope might just be my favorite Zoya purple.  It is such a standout in that color family with the blue and red flecks that run throughout the formula.  Hope is a rich, darker violet purple with a bit of shimmer.  The formula is fantastic, it goes on so smooth with little visible brushstrokes.  This is 3 thin coats of Zoya Hope, follow by a single coat of nubar Diamont.

And for a little added fun, I added Zoya Electra as an accent.  What a fun manicure!  I couldn't stop staring at my nails all day!

Zoya Aurora

Well, when Zoya does holos they aren't kidding around.  I almost did order Aurora, but when I got Blaze and Storm I knew I had to have it.  Zoya's photos online of Aurora don't look great, they really don't do it justice.  This is 2 coats of Zoya Aurora, followed by a single coat of Zoya Armor.  I love of Aurora dries to a relatively smooth finish.

A great Zoya combo, Zoya Aurora and Zoya Frida

Wowza, would you just look at that!  I am always trying new layering combination, especially with the three Zoya jellies Frida, Paloma and Katherine.  They all seem to have such a smooth glossy finish, they make any polish look deep.  I decided to throw two coats of Frida over 2 coats of Aurora and got this fantastic look.  It still had the great holographic fleck but the color really changed to a great purple.  I can't wait to try more combinations!

Zoya Caitlin with Zoya Fei Fei tips

 

I just adore this combination, I sat there staring at it for quite a while after I finished it.  This is Zoya Caitlin, a beautiful and smooth periwinkle cream with Zoya Fei Fei tips.  I haven't posted the swatch of Fei Fei yet, but it is coming soon.  It is a super unique color.  This was two coats of Caitlin, and I did the tips with tape and a single thicker coat of Fei Fei.

Zoya Kennedy with butter London Tart with a Heart

I had such a great combo the other day I had to share it sooner than later.  Winter is my favorite time to pull out my ivory and white sweaters to wear with a comfortable pair of jeans.  I don't typically pair dark polishes with white sweaters, so I reached out to Zoya Kennedy which ironically is from the winter 2011 feel collection.  This is 2 coats of Zoya Kennedy, an accent nail of butter London's Tart with a Heart, and a single coat of nubar Diamont.

We've joined Facebook with Zoya Lotus with China Glaze Prism

Well after Zoya ran their last promo, which expires today (details below), the request was made by a few that I have the swatches on Facebook too.  Good thing I actually started to work on it a few months ago, it made that request a little easier.  Feel free to head on over to the Color Me Jules Facebook page, like and share it, and keep up with all the new swatches.

 I reviewed this color, Zoya Lotus, back in March 2012 and had trouble getting its true color then.  I still think it is really hard to capture in a photo since the shimmery warmth still doesn't come out in this swatch either.  However I really wanted to share this swatch because of the great pairing with China Glaze Prism.  I love the way they look together!  Zoya Lotus applies so smooth, this is 2 coats of Lotus.  For the accent nail I did a single coat of Lotus, followed by 2 coats of China Glaze Prism.  I am going to throw in a detailed shot of Prism here so you can see the mutlitude of colors that make up this glitter.  It is so fun to throw this out there as an accent.  Do you have a favorite accent you find yourself reaching towards?
