Zoya Zara

Zoya Zara in natural light

What an incredibly fun color!  Zoya Zara never fails to dissapoint when I wear it.  I constantly get compliments when I am sporting this color.  Zara is a light violet or lilac shimmer with a very strong gold duochrome that can occasionally pop a little green as well.  My bottle is a little sheer, so I prefer 3 thin coats.  I think that also helps give the polish a little depth.  Application was great, no issues with streaking.  This was 3 thin coats of Zoya Zara, followed by 1 coat of nubar Diamont.

Julep Jodie

Julep Jodie in natural light

Julep Jodie came in my last Maven box a couple of weeks ago.  Julep describes is as a deep rose with a golden shimmer and those types of shades scream "old lady" to me most of the time.  I was pleasantly surprised with color though.  While it is rose, it looks a little more brick colored than I thought it would be.  The golden shimmer was nice, with minimal brush strokes.  I only own a few bottles of Julep polish, but they all seem a little runny which makes things a bit unmanageable.  Jodie was thin, and had similar application issues.  It did have the best formula of my Julep polishes thus far.  This is 2 coats of Jodie, and 1 coat of nubar Diamont.

Zoya Pasha

Zoya Pasha in natural light

I know this will be a pretty bold statement on my part, but Zoya Pasha is probably my favorite color polish.  I am constantly reaching for it when I have big meetings and need a neutral nail.  Pasha is one of the very few bottles I have completely used up and have had to purchase another.  It is a muted silver, grey, champagne, gold, mauve... how is that for a description!  It really is chameleon like in its tone as it seems to almost pick up on the colors you are wearing.  Pasha application is flawless, opaque in 2 coats with no brush strokes.  It has a slight shimmer or frost to it for a little character.  It does have a more purple like sister, Brizia, which I will get to swatching in the next few days.  This is 2 coats of Pasha, and 1 coat of nubar Diamont.

And don't forget, Zoya is running a promo through 12:00am midnight EST on Wednesday 3/14.  Put 6 polishes in your cart and enter SPRING3 to receive 3 of the polishes free.  What a great deal!

French Manicure with Zoya Bela and Zoya Purity

Every once in a while I go a little classic.  For some reason the other night I really wanted an actual french manicure, instead of one that I would normally do with colors.  I broke out Zoya Purity and Zoya Bela and my scotch tape and voila!  I started with 1 coat of Zoya Anchor, taped off the ends and applied 1 coat of Zoya Purity.  I let that dry while watching New Girl, love that show, and finished it off with 1 coat of Zoya Bela and 1 coat of nubar Diamont.  I find that it is easier to get a clean line if you apply a base for the tape to stick to.  I wore this for 3 days, which has to be some sort of record for me!

Zoya Jules

Zoya Jules in natural light
Zoya Jules, my name polish!  Well at least until they coming out with a Julie I can say that.  Jules has been one of my nicknames my whole life.  I love this color almost as much as I love my name.  Jules is a muted gold, champagne color with microflecks of gold and silver.  The fact that it has silver in it really makes it a metallic neutral in my book and can go with just about any color.  When it isn't shimmering, it does have a bit of a muddy look to it, but that makes it more subtle, or more restrained in my opinion.  This is 2 coats of Zoya Jules, with 1 coat of nubar Diamont.

Zoya Reece

First off, hello to my new readers tonight!  Zoya surprised me today by linking my post of Zoya Gemma on their blog.  I wondered what was going on when I saw my blog hits spike.  So welcome, and stick around!  Feel free to bookmark the site, add to your reader, follow me on Pinterest and share with your friends.

I love Zoya Reece!  It is a rose colored pink with the most fantastic duochrome.  In indirect light is shows more pink, but you get it out into direct light and the goldish green duochrome just begins to shine.  I took a few shots of this one in different light, it really is ever changing. This is 2 coats of Zoya Reece, with 1 coat of nubar Diamont.

Zoya Kristi

Zoya Kristi - Natural Light

I am such a sucker for reds!  If I could only wear one color for eternity, it would be red.  Zoya Kristi is a stunning red creme with phenomenal pigmentation.  Kristi is a bit cooler than Zoya Sooki, my other favorite red.  When I compare Sooki vs Kristi, I see Sooki being a bit more towards the orange side and Kristi a bit more towards the blue.  Zoya Kristi is opaque in 2 thin coats with very little visible nail line.  This is 2 coats of Kristi, with 1 coat of nubar Diamont.

Zoya Breezi with a Zoya Twila accent

Now I can't really pull this look off at work, but I loved it for the weekend.  Zoya Breezi is a very pigmented blue that reminds me of the crystal blue waters of the ocean.  It is an opaque cream, that only needs 2 coats as I show here.  The application was very smooth, even though the polish was a but runny.  I didn't have any issues with pooling.

For a fun look, I accented a nail with Zoya Twila.  Twila is a clear base with both bar and round pieces of blue glitter.  The round pieces have a slight bit of a holographic shine.  Just be careful with the bar glitter and it hanging off the end of your nail, it can scratch if you don't file it down. On each nail I had 2 coats of Zoya Breezi, 1 coat of nubar Diamont.  On the accent nail I had an additional coat of both Zoya Twila and nubar Diamont.

Zoya Gemma - perfect for St Patricks Day

I thought I would post this a couple of weeks before St Patricks Day in case anyone wanted to order it from Zoya.  I am so not a wearer of green polish since it typically makes my hands look like lobster claws.  However, the cool tone of this green makes it far more wearable for me.  Zoya Gemma is a soft olive green base with both purple and blue duochrome shimmer.  It is gorgeous in direct sunlight, these pictures just don't do it justice!  Originally I never wanted this color, but ordered a promo that included the whole Intimates collection.  I am so happy I did, what a unique color that is one of the few I own that had no duplicate.  This is 2 thicker coats of Zoya Gemma, with 1 coat of nubar Diamont.

Zoya Joy

Zoya Joy - Natural Light

Zoya Joy, a rose colored pink with a goldish shimmer was my choice last week.  It has a subtle sparkle to it in bright light, and is definitely a warm color, almost raspberry colored.  In direct sunlight it pulls more pink, but in indoor light it looks a little more coral or red.  Either way, it is a solid color in any light.  Application was great, and it was opaque in just 2 coats.  This was 2 coats of Joy and 1 coat of nubar Diamont.
